After 19 years of smoking and having the lows that I can say most of us experience, I decided to get my body fit and improve my mental health.
I was struggling to cope with the demands of life and the rapid changes to home and work life.
Looking for a balance that can be achieved.
I started running to help with the stresses of the new person I was to become, I eventually found that just running alone was not enough for me, and looked to other avenues.
I started at a local fitness facility.
It was here that I learned how to lift weights and move my body as well as my mind in new and exciting ways.
Not having the support that was needed in the gym I unfortunately damaged my shoulder along with my lower back.
After having shoulder surgery I decided to move to a new facility and start education in fitness and mental health.
I qualified as a coach in 20218 and found a release and passion in helping myself and others improve.
Not only in a physical capacity had I become stronger but mentally I had become more resilient to stress and strains, I’d never felt better.
Coping with life still had its challenges however I was much more resilient to its effects.
I continued to learn more and more, including how physical and mental health go hand in hand.
I qualified as a mental health coach in 2022 as a way to provide further support to clients and future members of my team. I wanted to pass on my knowledge and skills for the better of others.
Back pain is common and a lot of clients including myself suffered daily.
To support myself and others with the sometimes debilitating pain, I started to study Biomechanics - which is linked to how we move and stand.
On this journey, I have realised that the way we move, and the way we think impacts on every aspect of our lives.
Once these are in harmony we can be the best version of ourselves.
